The Australian Business Awards are delighted to recognise Dunlop Foams as recipients of Awards for Innovation and Product Innovation. The achievements of Dunlop Foams in developing a new furniture range deliberately aimed at Generation Y consumers have revitalised a market that had been declining for 20 years.
Dunlop Foams’ Dusko Collection from Smith is a range of distinctive multi-functional furniture which has rejuvenated a niche market and created an exciting branding opportunity to tap into a savvy new consumer market. The Smith project was a response to the recognised need to develop new products that would support the re-invention of Dunlop Foams. A carefully selected team was assembled to combine the insight of Generation Y thinkers with the knowledge and experience of Dunlop Foams’ marketers and product developers. The creation of the Young Designer Furniture Awards (YDFA) and the development of a working relationship bringing together Dunlop Foams as manufacturer with RMIT and furniture retailer Clark Rubber, was an essential innovation in bringing this new product range to market.
