| About The Winner: | The Australian Business Awards are delighted to recognise Smart Burn as recipients of the Awards for Innovation and Environmental Sustainability. The achievement of Smart Burn in investing in an idea and producing an innovative product to reduce smoke haze and particulate emissions from domestic wood heaters demonstrated their capacity to create and develop a new product that caters to the preservation and protection of the environment. Smart Burn, has created a completely new invention, with no competitors. This is a totally unique device that is the result of innovative hard work and a vision of reducing environmental pollution. The ‘SmartBurn’ product improves the combustion process within the fire and not only reduces emissions by 50% but allows the fire to burn 17% hotter and reduces the risk of chimney fires. Each SmartBurn prevents approximately 15kg of smoke emissions, is made from non-toxic, naturally occurring ingredients and is effective for up to 3 months. Smart Burn demonstrates their commitment to our environment with the goal of reducing the amount of particulate emissions entering the atmosphere by 1000 tons by 2010. Potential emission reduction could be as large as 22,200 tonnes per year from the 1.5 million wood heaters in the marketplace.
