The Australian Business Awards are delighted to recognise Lane Cove River Tourist Park as recipients of the Environmental Sustainability Award. The achievements of Lane Cove River Tourist Park in developing a strategic and operational planning framework committed to integrated environmental outcomes and environmentally sustainable practice have demonstrated their leadership in protecting and preserving the environment.
Lane Cove River Tourist Park’s environmental impact reduction strategies are integrated into their core business function. Their vision and strategies have reduced the development impact on the park by 35%. Caravan and campervan ‘eco sites’ have been designed to integrate native flora into existing sites to reduce the impact on the park. Existing amenities blocks have been converted to reduce the level of electricity required and to enhance the water saving capacity of each block. The park uses solar stations to produce 100% accredited green energy to reduce carbon emissions. Sediment basins create wildlife habitat and refuge while collecting water run-off and combating erosion.
These innovations, and the implementation of strategies designed to save over 3000 mega-litres of water per-annum, combined with an ongoing commitment to educating guests, suppliers and the local community in the importance of environmental issues have demonstrated Lane Cove River Tourist Park’s ongoing achievements in environmental sustainability.
